Today Express is going public. Now that the company can be traded on Wall Street, they decided to celebrate an unorthodox way – with a fashion show on Wall Street at 12:30 yesterday afternoon. Models like Alek Wek and Izabel Goulart walked the runway; some of the models even rung the bell at 9:30 a.m. to signal the start of the trading day. (NY Mag)
Nearly everything we purchase today can be broken down into a list of ingredients, making consumers smarter buyers. But what if they aren’t telling us everything? The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics recently found that many popular perfumes, colognes and body sprays fail to name all of the ingredients, simply listing “fragrance” rather than specific chemicals. Balenciaga and PR Consulting have split up after 12 years of doing business together. Both parties claim the split was mutual and amicable, but we have our doubts! The new role of U.S. director of public relations for Balenciaga is expected to be filled next week. (WWD)
Forbes just released their yearly list of top-earning models, and one thing hasn’t changed: Gisele Bundchen holds the top spot (which she has for six years running now!). She is estimated to have earned approximately $25 million from June 2009 to June 2010. That isn’t all that has stayed constant – all the top 10 stayed the same as last year (just in a slightly different order). (Fashionologie)
