Isabella Blow in Philip Treacy hat. Story by Anne Pringle.
Isabella Blow supported Alexander McQueen for his entire career – she even bought his complete “Degree Collection” when he graduated from Central Saint Martins in 1994. Now, three years after her death, her prominent fashion collection will be auctioned off – including 90 McQueen pieces, 50 Philip Treacy hats and Manolo Blahnik shoes. This is not your run of the mill yard sale! (NY Mag)
Speaking of Philip Treacy, guess who has just applied for a hat-making internship with the eccentric English milliner? The eccentric Lady Gaga – which makes perfect sense as she is already accustomed to fashioning everything from lobsters to telelphone to her head. They say two heads are better than one – we’ll wait and see what they come up with. (Style File)
M.A.C is on a roll lately, with their new “To the Beach” collection for this summer, and now another new collection in the works to release this fall. The newest collection is being made in collaboration with Disney, called “Venomous Villains”. Let’s hope it comes in grown-up colours. (Fashionista)
Aquascutum is now under new direction. Joanna Skyes, an Armani alum, was appointed as creative director on Friday. Her first full collection is not set to debut until next February, with a line for Autumn/Winter 2011. Despite the runway delay, we are told her influence on the brand will begin as of now.
