SOME LOOKS WE LIKED: At the Power Ball, part I

One of the most anticipated parties of the year, the Power Ball is (more importantly) the annual fundraiser for the excellent Power Plant gallery. Last Thursday, fashion designers, socialites and (yep) artists descended on Queen’s Quay to raise glasses at Power Ball 12. The theme? “The Ball That Started It All”, a “remix” of the best of Power Balls past. (It was an apt choice for a year crammed with retro references, from fashion’s ’90s redux to Hollywood’s love affair with vintage superheroes.)

We’ll bring you in-depth party analysis soon, but in the meantime, here are 10 of our top 20 looks of the night, starting with MTV’s Jessi Cruickshank and Natasha Penzo, of ASC PR, above.

Stylist Roz Griffith-Hall.

Fine art photographer Michael Awad (dressed as a fireman).

Fashion tip: Match your Converse to your crocodile’s tongue.

Fashion writer Sarah Nicole Prickett (left).

Short, sweet and sculptural.

Fine art photographer Robyn Cumming. Her work is featured in Adaptation: Between Species, which opens at the Power Plant on June 18.

Cute clutches and the best haircut of the night (right).

Fine art photographer Chris Ironside, whose hair is almost as wicked as his boutonnière.
