Louis Vuitton has been branching out into new areas this year, from designing a trophy case for the World Cup to creating protective cases for iPads. Their latest edgy design move is to commission celebrity tattoo artist Scott Campbell to design the bags for next week’s men’s runway show in Paris. Campbell has inked everyone from Sting to Marc Jacobs, who was apparently his LV connection. (ELLE)
Italian shoe designer Giuseppe Zanotti has been enlisted by French fashion house Vionnet to collaborate on a new line of shoes. The spring pre-collection debuted yesterday, and consists of 25 pieces made with leather and silk in block-colour patterns. Don’t miss the gorgeous strappy nude heels with wrap ankles. (WWD)
And in other strange collaboration news, Italian design house Missoni has teamed up with San Pellegrino. Pellegrino’s sparkling water will now come in bottles printed with the signature Missoni print on both the label and bottle covers. Maybe the World Cup buzz is inspiring fellow countrymen to join forces—even unconventional ones. (Nylon)
