THE BITE: An amuse-bouche of fashion news

It’s been 20 years since Jean Paul Gaultier designed Madonna’s Blond Ambition cone bra. He returns to the land of lingerie next week. Story by Anne Pringle.

Limited La Perla
Jean Paul Gaultier is collaborating with high-end Italian lingerie house La Perla on a line of undergarments. This is Gaultier’s first official line of lingerie, although he is famed for having put Madonna in her first cone bra in the ’90s. Two of the limited-edition garments (including a backstitch satin bra with a shoulder-strap motif) will appear in Gaultier’s couture show next week. (WWD)

Futuristic Fendi
Fendi just released a new timepiece with a patented futuristic technology. The Crazy Carats watch has a classic look, but an internal rolling mechanism allows the wearer to change the colour of the precious or semiprecious stones on the face. Creative director Silvia Venturini Fendi claimed that they wanted to launch something that had never been done before. Mission accomplished! (WWD)

Beach season
St. Tropez seems like the new “It” spot for high-fashion: Chanel held its resort runway show there and a bevy of new shops have opened, including Chanel and a pop-up Lanvin store. To celebrate the launch of its new St. Tropez store, Louis Vuitton has launched an exclusive beach bag. The bag is a beach version of its popular Neverfull bag, and comes with a beach towel—perfect for your next vacation to the beachy fashion paradise (or just to your local beach!).  (Vogue UK)
